Ninth seed Marion Bartoli brushes aside Aussie Casey Dellacqua in straight sets 6-2 6-4 to progress to the second round at Wimbledon.

The 2007 runner-up at SW19, Marion Bartoli, has advanced to the second round of this year's Wimbledon Championships after overcoming Casey Dellacqua.

After both women held their opening service games it was France's Bartoli who broke through in the third game before going on to a 6-2 success in 42 minutes.

In a similar vein to the opener, Dellacqua was broken in the third game of the second after just managing to hold her serve in the first game of the second on Court 12.

Bartoli herself was not having the easiest of service games but managed to hang on in sixth game despite going to deuce to consolidate her lead in the set.

The ninth seed went on to take the second 6-4 and book her place in round two, where she will take on Croatian Mirjana Lucic.
