Caroline Wozniacki: "I always feel like a contender"

Caroline Wozniacki remains confident that she will beat Camila Giorgi to reach the fifth round at Wimbledon.

Former world number one Caroline Wozniacki has declared that she is a strong contender to go all the way at Wimbledon this year.

The fifth seed let slip a 5-1 lead at one stage in her second-round clash against Denisa Allertova earlier today, but still managed to come through unscathed with a 6-1 7-6(6) win.

Following the victory, which comes on the back of her earlier success against Zheng Saisai, Wozniacki was already looking ahead to a fourth-round meeting against Camila Giorgi.

"I always feel like a contender. I'm five in the world, so of course I feel like a contender," the 24-year-old is quoted as saying by Yahoo!.

"It's been a season where I've had some great matches and some great wins, and a season where I have had some tough draws, as well. I'm playing well, and that's the main thing. I'm positive about playing here, and the rest of the season moving forward.

"I won junior Wimbledon. I feel so comfortable on the grass. There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to make it past the fourth round."

Should Woznicaki progress, she will not face either Serena Williams or Maria Sharapova before the final.
