Serena Williams admits Wimbledon "feels like home" after winning seventh title

Williams: 'Wimbledon feels like home'

Serena Williams has admitted that Wimbledon "feels like home" after winning her seventh title at the All England Club.

The 34-year-old equalled Steffi Graf's record of 22 Grand Slam crowns by beating Angelique Kerber in straight sets in the final on Saturday.

After the match, the world number one said: "It's such a great feeling to be out here. Angelique, I love playing her, she's such a great opponent. When we walk off court, she's such a great person to be around, always smiling. Thank you for being that great person."

When asked about reaching the feat of 22 major titles, Williams said: "It's been incredibly difficult not to think about it. I had a couple of tries this year, lost to two great opponents.

"Thank you for being out here to say number 22, I love you guys so much. This court definitely feels like home. I have a match out here in doubles, so I'll be back out here later on."

As well as seven Wimbledon titles, the world number one has six Australian Open crowns, three French Open titles and six US Open trophies.
