Jo-Wilfried Tsonga knocks Roger Federer out of Wimbledon

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga goes on to face Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is through to his first Wimbledon semi-final after ousting third seed Roger Federer.

Federer won the first three games of the match setting the tone of first set, which closed 6-3 to the Swiss.

The second set appeared to be the turning point for 12th seed Tsonga as a tie-break ensued, but Federer again came out on top as he secured a 7-3 margin.

However, Tsonga then pushed forward to take the next three sets 6-4 6-4 6-4, not allowing his serve to be broken.

The Frenchman will play Novak Djokovic, who beat Bernard Tomic earlier today, in the next round.
