Maria Sharapova excited ahead of facing Serena Williams

Fourth seed Maria Sharapova admits that it will be "incredible" to step onto Centre Court with Serena Williams in the Wimbledon semi-finals.

Maria Sharapova has admitted that she can't wait to take on Serena Williams in the Wimbledon semi-finals on Thursday afternoon.

The fourth seed has not faced the five-time champion in the latter stages at SW19 since 2004, and the Russian has revealed that she is anticipating an "incredible" moment when they take to Centre Court.

The 28-year-old told reporters: "I haven't played Serena here in 11 years. That will be an incredible moment for me to step out on Centre Court against her again."

In 2004, Sharapova won her only Wimbledon title after defeating Williams in the final.
