Murray: First round win is "pleasing"

Andy Murray has described his first-round win at this year's Wimbledon as "pleasing".

The second seed eased past Germany's Benjamin Becker 6-4 6-3 6-2 on centre court this afternoon.

Speaking after the match, the US Open champion said: "It was a good match, he played some solid tennis and didn't give much away in the first two sets.

"I started to play a bit better in the third set but it's a good start. He's a good grass court player but I was ready and to win in three sets is pleasing because there are always nerves in the first match, especially here."

Murray will face either James Ward or Lu Yen-Hsun in the second round.
