Andy Murray dealt difficult hand in Wimbledon draw

British number one Andy Murray will face Mikhail Kukushkin in the first round of Wimbledon next week.

Andy Murray has been dealt a difficult hand in his pursuit of a second Wimbledon title, having been drawn in the same half as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

The British number one, who won the Grand Slam event two years ago, may also have to overcome Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on his way to the final, where another meeting with Novak Djokovic could await.

Before then, Murray must first navigate past first-round foe Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan - an opponent he has defeated on two previous occasions.

Djokovic himself will face world number 33 Philipp Kohlschreiber in the opening round next week, while Lleyton Hewitt potentially awaits in the second at SW19. Two-time winner Nadal, meanwhile, is up against Thomaz Belluci.

Elsewhere, British number three James Ward has been paired with Spain's David Ferrer, and fellow home hopeful Kyle Edmund will take on Alexandr Dolgopolov.
