Feliciano Lopez glad to win title before Wimbledon

Feliciano Lopez believes that winning a title immediately before Wimbledon will serve him well in the Grand Slam.

Spaniard Feliciano Lopez has admitted that it is encouraging for him to win a title in the build-up to Wimbledon, which begins on Monday.

Lopez defeated Frenchman Gilles Simon in the final of the Aegon International at Eastbourne to win his third career title.

"It's definitely a good feeling to win the week before Wimbledon," Lopez said after the match.

"Conditions were so tough but we did our best. Hopefully at Wimbledon we can play a better match."

Lopez and Simon will meet again in the first round at the All England club.
