Tim Henman says that Andy Murray is in prime position to end Britain's long wait for a winner at Wimbledon.

Tim Henman believes that Andy Murray is ready to secure his first Grand Slam by winning Wimbledon.

The Scot takes on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semi-final this afternoon, aiming to end Britain's 74-year wait for a finalist at SW19.

The former British number one, and four-time semi-finalist at the All England Club, said that Murray looks in great shape to end his wait for one of tennis's major titles.

"This is Andy's best chance," said Henman. "In terms of his career, most definitely he is ready.

"He is more experienced, I think he's playing as well as he has ever played, and he is in a great place mentally and physically.

"This is an unbelievable opportunity for him. I've heard Fred Perry and Bunny Austin talked about for long enough and I'd be pretty happy for that conversation to end."

Murray has reached one US Open final and two Australian Open finals.
