Novak Djokovic pleased to return to top of rankings

Serbia's Novak Djokovic admits that it "feels great" to return to the top of the ATP world rankings.

Novak Djokovic has said that it feels "really great" to return to the top of the ATP world rankings after winning Wimbledon.

The Serb beat Roger Federer in five sets yesterday to clinch his second title at SW19, returning to the top spot for the first time since September last year.

The seven-time Grand Slam champion told Sky Sports News: "It feels great not only to win Wimbledon again but also to return to number one in the ATP Rankings, replacing Spain's Rafael Nadal as the world number one.

"I got to number one for the first time in my career after winning Wimbledon in 2011 so it is nice to do it again here. I can't wait to return to London to defend the ATP Finals title. I have had a good run there in the past two years. I really enjoy playing at the O2."

Djokovic's Wimbledon win also ensures that he is the first player to book their place in the Finals at the end of the season.
