Agnieszka Radwanska wins all-Polish affair at US Open

Agnieszka Radwanska sees off Polish compatriot Magda Linette to reach the US Open third round at Flushing Meadows.

Agnieszka Radwanska has booked her place in the third round of the US Open with a comfortable win over Magda Linette.

The 15th seed had too much firepower for her Polish compatriot as she recorded a 6-3 6-2 triumph at Flushing Meadows.

Aside from her excellent grass-court campaign, Radwanska, a former world number two, has endured a disappointing year, but she impressed against her countrywoman, who is ranked at number 91 in the standings.

She won over half of her return points during the opener, creating as many as eight break-point chances, and two were successfully converted to move into the lead.

It was a similar story in the second as he struck two more times to move through to a mouth-watering clash with Madison Keys.
