Serena: 'I've got nothing to lose'

Serena Williams has said that she has nothing to lose ahead of her US Open singles final against Sam Stosur.

The three-time winner has endured a tough year after suffering a blood-clot in her foot, and feels it is an achievement in itself to have reached the final.

"I really feel like I don't have anything to lose," she told reporters.

"I have beaten all odds; six months ago I was in the hospital and now I'm in the final, so I feel regardless of the result I have been a champion for anyone out there who has been fighting against all odds."

Serena's sister Venus pulled out of the tournament in the second round after she was diagnosed with autoimmune disease.
