Jelena Jankovic triumphs over Jelena Dokic

Jelena Jankovic has secured her place in the third round of the US Open after beating Australian Jelena Dokic in straight sets.

The former world number one triumphed over the 28-year-old 6-3 6-4 at the Louis Armstrong stadium.

The Serbian was not broken during the match despite a last ditch effort from the Australian in the second set.

The 26-year-old reached the final of the tournament in 2008.
