Benoit Paire hails "impossible" win over Kei Nishikori at US Open

French tennis player Benoit Paire reveals his delight after coming back to seal a memorable win over the fourth-seeded Kei Nishikori at the US Open.

World number 41 Benoit Paire has revealed his delight after defeating the fourth-seeded Kei Nishikori at the US Open this evening.

The Frenchman battled back from being two match points down on his way to claiming a shock 4-6 6-3 6-4 6-7 4-6 win over Nishikori, who has been suffering from injury problems in the build-up to the tournament.

"It was impossible for me to imagine this," Paire told spectators at Flushing Meadows after his win.

"I am going to go out and have a good time with my coach and friends now."

Paire will now face Marsel llhan in the second round.
