Sorana Cirstea "a huge fan of New York"

Sorana Cirstea has revealed that the US Open is her favourite of all four Grand Slams.

The Romanian booked her place in round two at Flushing Meadows yesterday evening thanks to a three-set win over Germany's Sabine Lisicki.

Speaking after that victory, Cirstea revealed that she feels right at home in New York.

"This is probably one of my favourite tournaments, because I'm a huge fan of New York," she told the WTA's official website. "I enjoy this place so much that I usually come for holidays here in November."

The 22-year-old has never gone beyond round three in the United States.
