Kim Clijsters not thinking about retirement

Kim Clijsters insists that she is not thinking about her retirement ahead of today's Olympic quarter-final against Maria Sharapova.

Kim Clijsters has insisted that she is not thinking about her impending retirement as she goes into her quarter-final with Maria Sharapova at the Olympics.

The 29-year-old Belgian will quit the sport for the second time in her career at the end of the US Open.

"I don't think about that this is my second to the last tournament at all," she told reporters. "I'm here to play tennis, and that's what I'm focusing on. You know, I don't think about it being finished.

"For the last 17, 18 years, I've been focusing on my matches. I'll do that until I play my last match."

Clijsters, who is competing at her first Games, will meet Sharapova for the first time on grass later today.
