Dan Evans has secured his place in the final round of qualifying ahead of the Australian Open with a three-set win over Amir Weintraub.
The British number five took the opening set before becoming embroiled in an altercation with his opponent's vocal support, who received a warning from the umpire.
Evans regained his composure to serve for the match but he squandered several points to progress, and in the next game produced four double faults as Weintraub fought back to extend the contest after winning a tie-break.

The umpire would hand a frustrated Evans a code violation warning, but the Birmingham hitter broke serve three times in the decider to record a 7-5 6-7 6-2 triumph, which sets up a match with American Bjorn Fratangelo
However, there was disappointment for James Ward, who fell to a 6-4 7-5 defeat to Dennis Novikov.
