Novak Djokovic extends unbeaten Australian Open streak to 23 games

Novak Djokovic extends his Australian Open winning streak to 23 games with a straight-sets victory against Leonardo Mayer.

Novak Djokovic has cruised past Leonardo Mayer in straight sets at the Australian Open.

The defending champion extended his winning streak to 23 matches at the tournament after making short work of the world number 98.

Djokovic, who has won the last three Opens, eased past Mayer 6-0, 6-4, 6-4 to qualify for the third round.

The match was the first time the pair have clashed, but the Serbian made light of the unfamiliarity as he raced to the first set without dropping a game, before ruthlessly dominating the second and third.
