Anne Keothavong loses in qualifying for the Australian Open

British number three Anne Keothavong has been eliminated from the first round of qualifiers for the Australian Open.

The 29-year-old lost 7-5 7-5 to 18-year-old American Grace Min, despite being 5-2 up in the second set.

Australian-born Brit Johanna Konta has advanced to the next round courtesy of a draining 6-3 6-7(8) 6-4 victory over Latvia's Anastasia Sevastova.

Twenty-one-year-old Chinese professional Zhou Yimiao now awaits in the second round.
