Edmund: 'Training with Murray has helped my game'

Kyle Edmund has revealed that he is feeling the benefits of having trained with two-time major winner Andy Murray.

The Beverley-based player came through qualifying to earn a place in the main draw in Melbourne, and the British number three believes that spending time at a training camp in Miami with Murray has aided his development on the ATP Tour.

The 20-year-old told The Independent: "Working with Andy in 2013, it was obviously a higher standard, so for me to play with him, I was having to work really hard to win points."

"This year when I went back and played with him, I felt a lot more comfortable with the balance and speed of play. I felt a good improvement from that year, which is what you want."

Edmund makes his Australian Open debut on Tuesday against American Steve Johnson.
