Edmund, the British number three behind Andy Murray and Ward, will get things underway against Steve Johnson on Court 22 at midnight, GMT, as he looks to capitalise on his impressive performances in qualifying.

World number one Novak Djokovic is the main attraction during the day session on the Rod Laver Arena, with his encounter against Aljaz Bedene likely to get started around 4am, GMT.

The night session is headlined by women's number one Serena Williams, who will play Belgium's Alison Van Uytvanck on the Margaret Court Arena just after 8am, GMT.
