Murray confident of reaching ATP Finals

Andy Murray remains confident that he will make the cut for next month's ATP World Tour Finals, despite exiting the Shanghai Masters at the third-round stage.

The world number 11 was edged out 6-2 1-6 2-6 by David Ferrer earlier today to hamper his qualifying hopes for the London-based event.

However, Murray still has three more weeks of tournaments to work his way into the top eight in the rankings, and he is encouraged by the way he is currently playing.

"There's still obviously a few more weeks left in the season," BBC Sport quotes the British number one as saying. "I've played some pretty good tennis. David barely missed a ball for about a set and a half. I couldn't find a way around him."

Murray lifted the Shenzhen Open title last month - his first triumph since winning Wimbledon in 2013.
