David Ferrer claims that he will have to be at his best to defeat Andy Murray this afternoon.

Spaniard David Ferrer has admitted that he will have to play his best tennis to defeat Andy Murray in their opening match of the ATP World Tour Finals this afternoon.

The world number five was speaking just moments before entering the court at London's O2 Arena.

"I'm very happy with my season and game," Ferrer told Sky Sports News. "I'm looking forward to playing Andy.

"I have to play my best tennis to beat him."

Ferrer has lost all five of his matches against Murray on hard courts.
