World number one Novak Djokovic reportedly turns down the chance to compete in ATP events in Qatar and Sydney.

World number one Novak Djokovic has reportedly turned down the chance to compete in ATP events in Qatar and Sydney ahead of the Australian Open in January.

The Serbian is expected to compete in the Mubadala World Tennis Championships in Abu Dhabi next month, after which he will fly to Perth for the Hopman Cup alongside Ana Ivanovic.

The 25-year-old will then attempt to secure his third Australian Open title in a row when the tournament begins in the New Year.

Meanwhile, Rafael Nadal could reportedly take part in Qatar as he build up his fitness ahead of the first Grand Slam tournament of the year.
