Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu both claim three-set wins in their opening matches of the 2022 Indian Wells Masters.

Andy Murray and Emma Raducanu have both progressed to the next stage of the Indian Wells Masters following respective wins on Friday.

The former found himself up against Australian Open nemesis Taro Daniel in round one, with the three-time Grand Slam winner seeking a measure of revenge after his counterpart dumped him out of the major tournament in January.

Murray slumped to a 6-1 first-set defeat but stormed back in the second and third to take the contest 1-6 6-2 6-4 and claim his 700th career victory, and Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik now lies in wait for the Brit in the second round.

Meanwhile, US Open champion Raducanu got off on the right foot against France's Caroline Garcia in her second-round match to take a 6-1 first-set lead before a flurry of breaks in set two saw the 28-year-old force a deciding third set.

Raducanu came out all guns blazing in the decider to advance courtesy of a 6-1 3-6 6-1 victory, with the teenager now up against Petra Martic of Croatia in round three.

GB also have Harriet Dart vying for a place in the third round against Elina Svitolina, while Dan Evans and defending champion Cameron Norrie face Federico Coria and Pedro Martinez respectively tomorrow.
