Great Britain's Harriet Dart advances to the first WTA quarter-final of her career at the Nottingham Open, where she will be joined by Liam Broady.

Britain's Harriet Dart pulled off an incredible fightback to advance to her first-ever quarter-final on the WTA Tour at the Nottingham Open.

The world number 114 and third seed Camila Giorgi reconvened for their second-round battle on Thursday after a rain-disrupted match, and the Brit miraculously managed to save three match points.

Dart ultimately advanced courtesy of a 5-7 6-4 7-6 (7-3) success, as Giorgi returned long from the 25-year-old's serve to send the home favourite through.

"I can't quite believe it, especially saving those match points. It's my first quarter-final so to be able to do it on home soil is pretty special," Dart said during her on-court interview.

The USA's Alison Riske prepares to meet Dart in the last eight, but Katie Boulter will not be joining her after she went down 3-6 4-6 to Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia.

Fellow Brit Yuriko Miyazaki also lost 2-6 6-7 (4-7) to Brazil's Beatriz Haddad Maia, leaving first-time quarter-finalist Dart as the sole home representative in the women's singles tournament.

However, Liam Broady was able to join Dan Evans and Ryan Peniston in the quarter-finals with a 2-6 7-5 6-2 win over Finland's Otto Virtanen, but Jay Clarke's run came to an end at the hands of Jordan Thompson.
