Juan Martin del Potro sees off Andreas Seppi

Argentina's eighth seed Juan Martin del Potro books his place in round three of the men's Olympic singles after he defeats Italian Andreas Seppi in straight sets.

Argentina's eighth seed Juan Martin del Potro has booked his place in round three of the men's Olympic singles after he defeated Italian Andreas Seppi in straight sets at Wimbledon.

Del Potro got off to a bad start by losing his opening service game, but he soon took control by breaking back twice on his way to a 6-3 victory.

Despite Seppi fighting hard to force the tie-break in the second, Del Potro came through 7-2.

The former US Open champion will meet either Frenchman Gilles Simon or Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov in the third round.
