Del Potro: 'It was a difficult defeat'

Juan Martin del Potro has described his record-breaking defeat to Roger Federer in the Olympic semi-finals as "not an easy situation" to accept.

The duo played over four hours on Centre Court on Friday in what was the longest ever match in Olympic history, with Federer coming out 19-17 in the final set.

"It's not an easy situation," said Del Potro. "Someone always has to win these matches, and it was his turn."

Del Potro will now face Novak Djokovic in Sunday's bronze medal match following the Serbian's loss to Andy Murray.
