Shaun Edwards: 'Wales won't rest players against Fiji'

Wales defence coach Shaun Edwards does not expect the team to be resting many players for their Rugby World Cup match against Fiji.

Wales defence coach Shaun Edwards has insisted that the team will not be resting players for their match against Fiji at the Rugby World Cup.

Warren Gatland's side boosted their chances of progressing to the quarter-finals of the tournament with a 28-25 win over England at the weekend.

Ahead of Saturday's match against the Pacific Island side, Edwards told reporters: "I don't think we will be resting too many players.

"One thing you find out about Welsh teams, or any rugby team, is that when you get some momentum you want to keep that going. We do have quite a long turnaround between the Fiji game and the Australia game on October 10, so the boys will get rested next weekend.

"So we will be putting out a pretty strong team against Fiji, showing them the respect they deserve after they have played so well so far in the competition. Obviously we have put ourselves in a good position, but the job is only half done and we are fully aware of that."

Wales moved up to second in the world rankings following their win over England.
