Wales climb to second in world rankings

Wales climb up to second in the IRB world rankings following their win over England at the Rugby World Cup.

Wales have moved up to second in the world rankings following their win over England at the Rugby World Cup at the weekend.

Warren Gatland's side, who now sit behind only New Zealand in the IRB standings, had never ranked higher than fourth since the rankings system was launched in October 2003 prior to this weekend's update.

England slip from third to sixth following the loss at Twickenham, while Scotland move back into the top 10 following their victory over the USA.

Australia, Ireland and South Africa complete the top five, while France, Argentina and Fiji also feature in the top 10.
