Wigan Warriors prop Ben Flower charged with Grade F offence

Wigan Warriors's Ben Flower is charged with Grade F offence for punching Lance Hohaia during the Super League Grand Final.

Wigan Warriors prop Ben Flower has been charged with a Grade F offence by the Rugby Football League for punching St Helens's Lance Hohaia during Saturday's Super League Grand Final.

Meanwhile, Hohaia has been charged with a Grade B offence for his part in the incident.

Flower will be given a minimum eight-match ban if he is found guilty at an RFL disciplinary hearing on Tuesday evening.

The Welshman was sent off with just two minutes played at Old Trafford after he responded to a high arm from Hohaia by punching the St Helens back twice, with the second punch landing while his opponent was knocked out on the ground.

Flower issued an apology following the match, which his side went on to lose 14-6.
