A brace Anthony Laffranchi, along with scores from Iosia Soliola, Paul Wellens and home-debutant Adam Swift, put the hosts into a commanding 26-0 lead at the break.

Louis McCarthy-Scarsbrook touched down soon after half time as the Saints continued to dominate the visitors.

Andrew Dixon, Michael Shenton and Mark Flanagan all scored before the hour in what was an overwhelming performance from St Helens.

They didn't stop there as Swift touched down twice in quick succession with 10 minutes to play to complete his hat-trick.
