St Helens hammer London Broncos to go top of Super League

St Helens bounce back from a trio of defeats to hammer London Broncos 48-18 at Langtree Park.

St Helens hammered London Broncos 48-18 at Langtree Park this evening to move back to the top of the Super League.

Luke Walsh kicked six goals as Saints ran in nine tries in a game that saw them bounce back from three previous defeats.

Matty Dawson went over the line after six minutes before Walsh added a try of his own five minutes later.

Jonny Lomax and Thomas Makinson added tries before the half-hour mark, before the Broncos responded with an effort from Denny Solomona.

In truth though, the visitors were never likely to get back into the contest, and Lance Hohaia and Adam Swift both ran in tries shortly after the restart before Joe Greenwood and Josh Jones got in on the act.

Thomas Minns added the Broncos' second try of the evening just after the hour mark, and Mike Bishay scored late on before Mark Flanagan responded for the Saints.
