St Helens scrum-half Luke Walsh to miss rest of season through injury

St Helens scrum-half Luke Walsh is forced to miss the rest of the season with a suspected broken leg.

St Helens scrum-half Luke Walsh has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a suspected broken leg.

Walsh suffered the injury on Friday during his side's 44-22 win at home to Widnes Vikings in Super League.

The 27-year-old had to be stretchered off the pitch in the second half at Langtree Park after tackling an opposition player.

"That is the nature of the game. He did it making a tackle and it is either a compound leg fracture or a dislocated ankle," Saints coach Nathan Brown is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

St Helens continue their Super League campaign next Friday when they travel to Hull FC.
