Mike Rush hails Paul Wellens contribution

St Helens interim coach Mike Rush has hailed the contribution of captain Paul Wellens following Friday night's 44-12 win over Castleford Tigers.

The victory at Langtree Park saw the Saints turn around their recent run of two defeats.

"Wello was my star man," said Rush. "He scored a try and made another for Tommy Makinson with a long pass.

"He led from the front and told the players this week we need to end the season well."

The win has lifted St Helens up to third in the Super League table.
