Sean Long joins St Helens coaching staff

St Helens legend Sean Long returns to Langtree Park as a member of the club's coaching setup.

St Helens legend Sean Long has returned to the club as part of Kieron Cunningham's coaching setup.

The 38-year-old has penned a two-year contract with the Saints following spells with Wigan Warriors, Salford Red Devils and Samoa.

Long, who retired from playing in 2011, won 11 major trophies during 13 seasons at Langtree Park.

"I am delighted to be back at a club I love so much," he told St Helens's official website. "Saints are one of the greatest rugby league clubs in the world and to be part of the backroom team here was too good an opportunity to turn down. It was my chance to come home.

"The opportunity to work with Keiron Cunningham - a teammate and friend who was and still is a legend at Saints - and the great squad the club has is very exciting."

Long was capped by both England and Great Britain during his career.
