Salford, Hull Kingston Rovers share the spoils

Salford Red Devils and Hull Kingston Rovers settle for a point apiece following a 16-16 draw at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Salford Red Devils and Hull Kingston Rovers had to settle for a point apiece at the Salford City Stadium this evening having played out a 16-16 draw.

The hosts were ahead after 22 minutes when Francis Meli crossed over, but the lead did not last long with Kris Welham responding for the Robins just four minutes later when he touched down.

Kevin Larroyer then added a second try for his side on the half-hour mark to put Hull ahead, while Travis Burns kicked over the extras to extend the lead.

That was to be the end of the scoring in the first half, but Meli doubled his try-count for the evening 15 minutes after the restart with Jake Mullaney converting the follow up to bring the scores level once more.

Five minutes later Hull regained control courtesy of Neville Costigan who found the try line, only for Martin Gleeson to add a sixth try of the game shortly after to level the topsy-turvy contest.

Neither side could find a decisive winning try, ensuring that Hull KR remain one point above the Reds in the Super League table.
