Brian Noble: 'Salford Red Devils' honeymoon period is over'

Salford Red Devils boss Brian Noble warns his players that the "honeymoon period is over" following last night's 28-12 defeat to Warrington Wolves.

Salford Red Devils boss Brian Noble has warned his players that the "honeymoon period is over" following last night's 28-12 defeat to Warrington Wolves.

Noble's side got their Super League campaign off to a flying start by beating Wakefield Wildcats and London Broncos in their opening two games.

However, the loss to Warrington was their third straight reverse, and Noble has told his team that they must "play smarter" if they are to return to winning ways.

"The honeymoon period is over and we did some silly things," he told reporters. "We shot ourselves in the foot and didn't make the start we wanted."

He added: "The effort was good but we have to make sure we go in the right direction. We made too many errors and need to play smarter.

"We had six goes at them and scored three tries but their kicking game was better than ours and that was the main difference. We didn't quite handle their ruck speed either."

Noble took charge of Salford in April 2013.
