Ticketless Newcastle United fans face arrests in Brugge

Police warn ticketless Newcastle fans

Newcastle United supporters have been warned that they will be arrested if they turn up to the Magpies' Europa League match against Brugge without a ticket.

Around 8,000 fans of the Premier League club were expected to travel to Belgium, despite a ticket allocation of 1,470, according to the Shields Gazette.

Brugge police are believed to have urged Northumbria police to warn the Newcastle supporters that they face harsh punishment if they do not comply with the rules.

Reports have claimed that Newcastle requested a larger ticket allocation but the request was denied.
