Teenager arrested for alleged racist abuse during Carlisle, Everton FA Cup tie

Teen arrested for 'racist abuse' at Brunton Park

A teenager has been arrested by Cumbria Police in relation to alleged racist behaviour made during the FA Cup fourth-round tie between Carlisle United and Everton at Brunton Park on January 31.

It was alleged that "racial remarks" were aimed at Everton forward Arouna Kone during the match.

The abuse is believed to have taken place shortly after Kone scored his side's opening goal inside the first two minutes of the encounter.

It has now been confirmed that police arrested a 15-year-old male on suspicion of racially aggravated harassment by words contrary to Section 4a of the Public Order Act.

The teen was later released on bail pending further enquiries, according to BBC News.

Everton won the game 3-0 to put themselves in the hat for the fifth round.
