Tiger Woods playing through the pain at the US Open

Woods playing through the pain

Tiger Woods believes that he could have got more from his second round at the US Open.

The 37-year-old, who is struggling with an elbow injury, shot an even-par 70, which sees him just four shots off the lead on three-over-par.

Woods said that, despite making a few mistakes around Merion, his game is in good shape heading into the third round.

"I played well," Woods told reporters. "I just made a couple of mistakes out there today, but I really played well.

"Maybe I could have gotten one or two more out of it, but it was a pretty good day. We have a long way to go, and these conditions aren't going to get any easier."

Billy Horschel and Phil Mickelson are tied for the lead on one-under-par.
