Sergio Perez may really be eyeing a Formula 1 comeback in 2026, according to his longtime former physio Xavi Martos.
Martos, speaking on the Duralavita podcast, pointed to the 35-year-old’s recent change of management as a strong signal that he intends to return to the grid.
"I think people have missed one thing," said Martos. "Checo has a new manager. I don't know if you read it. He had Julian (Jakobi), now he has a new manager. I wonder why he has a new manager?
"If you want to quit racing, you're not going to hire a new manager. At least that doesn't occur to me."
Perez lost his Red Bull seat at the end of 2024 and has since been linked to potential openings at Alpine, especially with Franco Colapinto under increasing pressure.
However, Cadillac - long considered his likeliest destination - is now understood to have signed Valtteri Bottas.
