Cadillac in no hurry to sign Perez for 2026 - Towriss

Dan Towriss, a key figure in the Cadillac Formula 1 team set to debut in 2026, has dismissed speculation that Sergio Perez has been signed, stating the team is in "no rush" to lock in its driver line-up.

Perez, dropped by Red Bull at the end of 2024, attended the Miami Grand Prix alongside his billionaire Mexican sponsor Carlos Slim and Towriss, fueling rumours of a three-year contract with Cadillac.

However, Towriss, CEO of TWG Motorsports, which became a co-owner after Michael Andretti scaled back his involvement last year, clarified to Le Journal de Montreal, "We're in no rush."

Other drivers linked to Cadillac include Valtteri Bottas, Zhou Guanyu, and American IndyCar star Colton Herta, but team boss Graeme Lowdon noted that the candidate pool remains even broader than that.

"We're taking our time," Towriss reiterated. "Several names currently circulating are indeed on our list."
