Lewis Hamilton incurs five-place penalty at German Grand Prix

Hamilton starts German GP in 20th

Lewis Hamilton will begin the German Grand Prix in 20th after changing his gearbox ahead of the race.

The decision to replace the gearbox came after the Mercedes driver was involved in a heavy crash in the first qualifying session yesterday.

Hamilton was due to start the race in 15th place, but the FIA have said that Hamilton will begin from further back on the grid.

Mercedes confirmed the penalty on Twitter.
