Lewis Hamilton: 'Too early for Formula 1 title talk'

Lewis Hamilton dismisses talk of closing in on a third Formula 1 drivers' title after his victory at the Belgian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton is refusing to get carried away with suggestions of retaining his world title, despite extending his lead over Nico Rosberg at the top of the drivers' standings.

Bar an early overtake from Sergio Perez, Hamilton led the Belgian Grand Prix from start to finish and ahead of his Mercedes teammate, who is now 22 points behind in the championship race.

However, Hamilton has warned that there is plenty left before he can consider the title his.

He told reporters: "It is definitely way too early for that. You want to get those pole positions and translate them into wins and hopefully today is the beginning of that, so I am looking forward to the next races.

"Nico had good pace but I was able to answer most of the time, so I was fairly relaxed at the front."

Sebastian Vettel, who won in Hungary last month, was denied a podium after suffering a tyre blowout late in the race at Spa Francorchamps.
