McLaren F1 driver Fernando Alonso remains in hospital in Barcelona

McLaren driver Fernando Alonso is spending another day in hospital in Barcelona following last weekend's accident in pre-season testing.

The Spaniard suffered concussion after crashing his McLaren during the 21st lap of the track in Barcelona on Sunday.

The two-time world champion posted an image of himself on social media from his hospital bed claiming that he is in relatively good health, but McLaren have been quiet with regards to Alonso's condition.

According to BBC Sport, Alonso is yet to be discharged from hospital and has so far spent three nights under medical care.

It is unclear whether Alonso will take part in this week's final test.
