Fernando Alonso airlifted to hospital after crash in Formula 1 testing

Fernando Alonso has been airlifted to hospital after crashing during Formula 1 testing in Barcelona.

The accident happened at turn four as the Spaniard was attempting to complete his 21st lap of the day.

McLaren have confirmed that the two-time world champion was 'conscious and speaking' following the incident.

Fernando is conscious and is speaking. He has been airlifted to hospital for further checks.

Alonso reportedly crashed his car while travelling at around 150kph.
