Button: 'I'm happier with car performance'

McLaren driver Jenson Button has revealed that he has seen an improvement in his car's performance during the first two practice sessions ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix.

Button has been eighth fastest in both sessions, and the 2009 world champion believes that he can perform even better ahead of qualifying on Saturday.

The 33-year-old told Autosport: "I'm happier with the car here than in the last few races. There are some positives with areas that we've struggled in before, but seem a bit better.

"Because Monaco's such a different race, you change the car quite a bit, and it seems to be working a little bit better.

"We're still not setting amazing times, but I'm happier that we're going in the right direction and I think that we can improve on Saturday."

The Brit has won just 17 points in the opening five races of the season.
