Jenson Button upbeat his luck will turn

Jenson Button has revealed that he is optimistic his fortune will turn at McLaren despite his failure at the British Grand Prix.

The 35-year-old crashed out on the first lap of his home race after colliding with teammate Fernando Alonso to continue his struggles at Silverstone, where he has failed to reach the podium in 16 attempts.

Button believes that his luck with McLaren will change in the near future despite major problems with the car, which has seen him fail to finish his past three races.

He told reporters: "I am still racing a Formula 1 car. You are optimistic every time you get in the car that it is going to improve. "The next race will be a good step forward hopefully. We think the car will work better in Hungary."

Button has amassed just four points in the Drivers' Championship this season.
