Ferrari admit that they plan to improve their qualifying speed but are happy with race pace.

Ferrari have targeted an improvement in their qualifying pace as they look to close the gap on Lotus Renault and Red Bull in the constructors' championship.

Chief designer Simone Resta said that he is pleased with the team's showings on Sundays, but said that the team might focus their set-ups more towards qualifying in future.

"This year I think we have shown a reasonable race pace, and we closed the gap in qualifying [compared to 2012], but we still need to work on that - and it is a priority for us," Resta told Autosport.

"I think learning the tyres and also how to treat them is an important factor in that – and concentrating your set-up more to qualifying or more to the race is another factor.

"I think for us, it is a priority to try to recover performance in qualifying."

Ferrari are 32 points behind championship leaders Red Bull.
